I thought these looked pretty nice for the price and am very happy. There are really no surprises on quality or features. What you see relative to quality and features in the product pictures is what you get. I think the vented boot/leg gators are a nice feature and probably add a bit to the price, besides The North Face name.HOWEVER!....on color, one quick warning on the British Khaki, which I bought. The color you get is not as light or beige as what is shown in the product pictures -- in my opinion (and another warning, I am not great on colors). But, if you zoom in on the velcro area in one of the pictures for the British Khaki, that is more of the color you get -- more tan, burnt, or auburn as I would call it (also I included a photo of the pants I got). As for me, I actually like the color I received much better. I think it looks a little more updated. So, I am pleasantly surprised. But, if you are expecting a lighter, normal beige khaki, you might be disappointed. As for fit, which is key when ordering online, I typically take a large (generally regular) in about every ski pant I have ever owned but I took a medium (regular) in these. I am 6'2" - 6'3", have a V-shaped body with not big legs/thighs, weigh 175, not much gut, and wear a 34x34 pant/jeans. The waist fit is a bit snug but I can pull the side waist tabs fully over the velcro and the pants still work fine and I'm not busting out of 'em. If I lose 2-5 pounds, the fit would be perfect, so really this is the right size for me in this style/brand, although I would say most other ski pants I've owned are a little more accommodating, i.e., not forcing me to go on a diet but not being too baggy either. But, these might be termed more of a modern fit than the older pants I've owned. Regardless, if you are a bit bigger than my size outlined, these may be too small. The length with any boots or ski boots is fine, with the bottom hem resting atop my instep and about half way down my heel. So not much room for error there, but fine for me. The cut is meant to be standard, which I really like as, again, it looks a little more modern/tailored. I've tried on the relaxed North Face and I swim in them and the legs on those look way wide. So, I like the standard fit size as they call it, not too wide, not too narrow. Pretty straight fit.So, in sum, again a bit snug in the waist, as maybe I would guess it is more of young man's/teen's stylishly clothed 34 waist then just a standard 34 waist. BUT, the size is right and they actually look about perfect. The large on me would be too big. So, I am very pleased with my purchase, especially given the challenge of finding the right size online. If I see a sale on these, I may very well pick up another pair in another color.I bought these to replace my previous pair of the same model pants from TNF. The durability of the product when properly cared for is amazing. The previous ones had been skied in over 1000 days. I actually only bought the new pair because I managed to loose 35lbs (not preaching, but that happened merely because I decided to stop drinking!) and the xl became too baggy-saggy. Just wash the pants regularly according to the directions and you will get years of performance from them. Water beading can be rejuvenated with a wash in product like those from Nikwax. The pattern of the garment is pretty basic, basically a Jeans cut. But it is free moving and versatile for on or off the mountain wear. The leg diameter is narrow enough that you can use them for a variety of day to day activities when it’s snowy. They are fine with anything from just ‘yer choners underneath up to the mult layer approach. The pockets are basic and totally secure. The front hand pockets give you a place for your wallet and small stuff, one conveniently includes a special clip for your keys. Additionally the leg gaiters are easy to use and not overly baggy for when you’re not wearing ski boots.Totally recommend for those unchained from fashion who are looking for performance and quality. The North Face never disappoints and I have to fight to stop my wife from stealing these all the time. Looks good, feels good, and gets the job done!Immediately upon wearing these I noticed the difference between the rental pairs and these pants. The pockets are perfectly placed, adjustable waistband, and they were very warm!Bought as a gift. The fit was right on and the quality was what I expected from a North Face product.Just as listed, except there is not black front pocket. Thin but wind resistant and warm. Yet to use them for a snowboarding, but I believe they are exactly what I wanted. Expensive but good quality item.Son loves color taken to Alaska will see if keeps him warmNice color, good quality, for my son, we see after the snowboarding trip.
